A Game Born From History, Strategy, and Tabletop Passion
What began as an idea on paper slowly grew into a world, shaped through years of iteration, testing, and illustration.

SINCE 2016
Designed & Created by One Maker
Harbour of Fortune is entirely designed, developed, and illustrated by a single creator Jannieke van Geet, owner of the Dutch Card House Company.
From game mechanics and balancing to illustration, world-building, and component design, every element of the project has been carefully crafted to form a cohesive and intentional experience.
This is not a licensed game or a reskin, it is a fully original work, shaped over time with a clear creative vision.
With over 40 successfully funded Kickstarter campaigns, Dutch Card House Company brings years of experience in manufacturing, fulfillment, and premium product design to this project.
That experience ensures that Harbour of Fortune is not only creatively ambitious, but also carefully planned for production and delivery.
Why Playing Cards?
Playing cards have a unique quality: they are familiar, tactile, and endlessly expressive.
Harbour of Fortune was designed around playing cards from the very beginning, not as an afterthought, but as the core system of the game. Each family commands its own full deck, allowing character, narrative, and strategy to be expressed through the cards themselves.
This approach bridges two worlds: the depth of modern board games and the elegance of traditional card design.
This results in gameplay that feels familiar at first glance, yet reveals deep strategic layers over time.

Looking ahead
Harbour of Fortune will launch on Kickstarter in early 2026.
During the campaign, we will reveal the full depth of the game, including complete gameplay details, all card artwork, additional components, and exclusive editions created specifically for backers.
What you see here is only a glimpse of what is to come.
Whether you are a board gamer, a playing card collector, or both, there will be much more to discover as the harbour continues to grow.
Following the project now ensures you won’t miss what’s coming next.
Thank you for taking the time to explore Harbour of Fortune. This project exists because of a love for games, craft, and storytelling, and the community that supports them.
With love,
Jannieke
